Firm News

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Bricker & Eckler LLP recently welcomed Jackie Mallett to serve clients as part of the firm's Banking and Consumer Financial Services group. Mallett left her post as Chief Counsel for Consumer Finance at the Ohio Department of Commerce’s Division of Financial Institutions to join the firm as Of Counsel.

“The addition of Jackie gives our clients a unique edge,” said Managing Partner Kurt Tunnell. “Her many years of experience as a trusted and well-respected regulator in the financial services industry presents a different perspective from which our clients can benefit. This is new and exciting territory for our firm, as our Banking and Consumer Financial Services team grows in size and skill. ”

“Jackie’s experience serving both in government and the private sector will pack a one-two punch for our clients,” added David Stein, Of Counsel and chair of Bricker’s Banking and Consumer Financial Services group. “As a member of our team, Jackie will counsel clients on overall regulatory compliance, data breach and security, litigation and enforcement defense.” Bricker serves clients in all sectors of banking, lending, loan servicing and other areas of commercial and consumer financial transactions.

“Bricker & Eckler is a premier firm and has built a robust, growing practice focused on the specialized needs of the financial services industry. Because of its thriving reputation, both regionally and nationally, I am thrilled to be a part of this team,” said Mallett. “I’m looking forward to helping clients with the regulatory and compliance issues they face every day. Legal counsel must be able to serve clients by understanding their challenges. My industry experience and regulatory knowledge will bring unique counsel to Bricker clients.” Mallett will also be a contributor to www.FinancialServicesLaw.com, the firm’s nationally recognized blog reporting on legal news and developments impacting the financial services industry.
